# What happens when you "Unlock" a candidate's talent card on Cutshort?

**How is a candidate's resume displayed?**
Every candidate on Cutshort has a resume attached to their Talent Card. You can view it with a single click — but by default, contact details (like phone number and email) are masked.

**Why are contact details hidden?**
To keep the process transparent and respectful of candidates’ privacy, we only share contact details once you show interest through an Unlock.

**What happens when I unlock a candidate?**
When you click “Unlock profile” on a Talent Card:

* The candidate’s contact details (email and phone) become visible on both the Talent Card and the resume.

* You now have full access to reach out to the candidate directly.

* Your account will be charged one unlock credit.

**Pro Tip:** Review the Talent Card and resume before unlocking to ensure the candidate is a strong match.
