# I received a message or email from an employer. Where can I see it and respond?

> Find and reply to employer messages, invites, and questionnaires on Cutshort — on web, mobile app, or by email.

When a company contacts you on Cutshort — whether it is an **invite to apply**, a **recruiter message**, or a **questionnaire** — it appears in your **Messages** inbox. That is the one place to read and respond, on every device.

## On the website (desktop or mobile browser)

1. Log in at [cutshort.io](https://cutshort.io) with the same email that received the notification.
2. Open **Find jobs → Messages** in the top menu.
3. Open the conversation from that company.

**Which tab?** New outreach usually appears under **Interested in you**. If you have already replied or applied, check **Pending**, **Shortlisted**, or **Closed**.

## On the Cutshort mobile app (Android or iOS)

Install the app if you have not already:

Then:

1. **Tap the push notification** from the company — it opens the conversation directly.
2. Or open the app, go to **Messages** in the bottom navigation, and select the company's thread.

The same conversation appears in the app and on the website. Replying on either device updates the thread for both.

## From email or WhatsApp

If you received the message by **email** or **WhatsApp**:

1. Use the **Take action**, **View invitation**, or similar button in that message — it opens the conversation on Cutshort.
2. For some recruiter emails, you can also **reply directly to the email** and your response is added to the same thread.

Make sure you are logged in with the email address that received the notification.

## Types of messages you might see

All of these appear inside the same conversation thread in Messages:

| **Invite to apply (ITA)**               | A recruiter invited you to apply for a specific job             | Open the thread and tap **Take action** or follow the prompts to show interest or apply   |
| **Recruiter message**                   | A text message from the recruiter or hiring team                | Type your reply in the message box at the bottom of the thread                            |
| **Questionnaire / screening questions** | A form inside the conversation ("Please answer the following.") | Fill in each question, then tap **Submit** (responses cannot be changed after submission) |
| **Automated first message**             | An initial automated message before a recruiter follows up      | Reply in the thread so the recruiter gets the information they need                       |

### If the job also has an AI screener

## Can't find the message?

1. **Check every Messages tab** — **Interested in you**, **Pending**, **Shortlisted**, and **Closed**.
2. **Use the link from your email, WhatsApp, or app notification** — it opens the correct thread.
3. **Confirm you are on the right account** — log in with the email that received the employer's message.
4. **Try another device** — open Messages on the website if you usually use the app, or vice versa.
5. **Turn on notifications** — install the [mobile app](/candidates/mobile-job-alerts) or enable [WhatsApp notifications](https://cutshort.io/profile/candidate-settings/notifications) so you do not miss the next message.
